Your Prime Coat Consultant has the experience and training to help you make that decision and to choose the options that perfect that system for your needs.
We start with a thorough analysis of your unique project or design including your project timelines, performance requirements, design expectations and budget constraints. The use of the surfaces, timing of the installation, wear resistance, slip resistance, chemical resistance are all taken into consideration before recommending a system solution. Next we gather information from our extensive data network that includes on-site testing, historical performance and valuable input from our own research laboratory. We then discuss the potential system solutions and options with you to make the right choice.

Proper preparation of the substrate to be coated is often the most critical step in achieving long term coating performance. This crucial step is often misunderstood, trivialized, out-sourced or omitted completely by others in the industry. Prime Coat has the expertise to prepare your substrate properly to conform with NACE, SSPC and ICRI standards. We use a variety of preparation techniques including abrasive, soda, dry ice, shot, grit and soft media blasting, dustless diamond cutting and grinding, and water jetting and cleaning. Our expertise allows us to achieve the required level of preparation while minimizing the negative impact to the work area.
High-Pressure Water Blasting
Used where abrasive blasting is not the best solution and dust cannot be tolerated.
Soft Media Blasting
Used to control dust, with the combined feature of creating an anchor profile.
Air Nozzle Abrasive Blasting
For those surfaces that require high production, coupled with an anchor profile.
Centrifugal Wheel Abrading
For high speed, dustless floor preparation.
Sodium Bicarbonate
An environmentally friendly cleaning method
Dust-Free Diamond Cutting and Grinding
Dustless concrete preparation for small, hard to reach areas.
Dry Ice Blasting
Allows for surface preparation without abrasive residue. The prepared surface can be coated immediately.

The skill required to install a Prime Coat Coating System incorporates multiple trade disciplines. That is why we developed our own training program, registered and approved by the Federal Department of Labor. Our employees must undergo long hours of classroom and field training to master our products and the specialized equipment required to safely and properly install them. Upon completion of the program, they become eligible for promotion to a Prime Coat Project Technician. A Prime Coat Technician oversees every Prime Coat project and is responsible for achieving high marks on our Customer Satisfaction Survey.
Employee Training
The foundation of every Prime Coat Coating System is our employees. All Prime Coat technicians are rigorously trained in our classrooms, the field and through our professional affiliations. We take our work seriously and train for excellence. Our technicians progress through as many as 7 training levels culminating with the elite NACE CIP III certificate. Each track takes from 10 to 18 months depending on the employee’s level of self-motivation and accumulation of the required field experience. Every Prime Coat employee is evaluated by their peers, their subordinates and by management. Our customers offer additional evaluation upon completion of every project through our Customer Satisfaction Survey. Continual evaluation translates into optimal performance and exceptional customer satisfaction.
